NCC Passing out Parade - 2019
NCC passing out ceremony for the Senior Cadre students of Troop No: 2746 TN Med Coy Army Wing was held on 30th January 2019(Wednesday). Major Dhinesh Davis, former Junior Resident Doctor at Jubilee Mission Medical Hospital, Thrissur was the Chief Guest of the occasion. The Programme began with the display of flat foot drill. The synchronized hand and foot movements of the cadets displayed their finesse. Later the Chief Guest distributed certificates to the outgoing cadets. He then addressed the gathering with inspiring speech. In commemoration with Martyrs’ Day, a tribute speech was also delivered by two students of Bharathi. The poignant speech was about the challenging lifestyle of soldiers who sacrifice their lives for the sovereignty of India. The Correspondent and Secretary Mr.C.Anand, the Principal of the School, parents of the cadets, teachers and students witnessed the ceremony. The passing out parade concluded with NCC song followed by the National Anthem.
Annual Day Celebration - 2019
The most impeccable 48th Annual Day was celebrated magnificently on 12th January 2019 (Saturday), at the school premises. The alumnus of the School Mr. Krishna Kumar IRS was the Chief Guest of the occasion. The Correspondent and Secretary of the School, Mr. C. Anand graced the occasion with his presence. The programme began with a pious invocation song followed by a classical dance -Thillana. The Principal of the School presented the annual report of the year 2018-2019. Annual day serves as a day to acknowledge the exuberant of students for their comprehensive performance in all spheres. The best outgoing students and the achievers at national level were felicitated. It was followed by the pristine performance on stage which enchanted the audience. A play on Merchant of Venice insisting on the divine power of Mercy over Justice captivated the audience. The tiny bloomers of Bharathi enacted a play on “Twelve Months” which brought out the specialities of various seasons and months also focused on the human virtue ‘Mercy’. The Colourful dance performances of the children left the audience astound. The Chief Guest motivated the students to excel in all spheres of life. The programme concluded with National Anthem.
Skanda Shashti Celebration 2018
Skanda Shashti isone of the most important festival for the people of Tamil culture. The day of “Soorasamharam”marksthe triumph of good over evil. The Tiny tots of Bharathi brought out Soorasamharam festival on 20th November 2018, Tuesday. The Programme began with an invocation song. The stunningcherubs featured the legendary story of Lord Muruga’s victory over the demon Surapadma. The audience were mesmerised when the gigantic demons waged war with Lord Muruga. This triumph was celebrated with the splendid dance of peacocks. The show revived the traditional dance forms of Kavadi and Karagam. The beguiling facial expressions andeuphoniousvoice of the littleones enchanted the audience.
Bharathi Darshan Science Exhibition, 2018
The annual science exhibition of Bharathi was held on 24th November 2018, Saturday. Students displayed many scientific theories. All branches of science were given equal importance, Students from higher grades concentrated in specific fields of Entomology and Archaeology. The myth of mermaids and the details about carcinogenic diseases were eye openers to the spectators. Groups of students took up the three branches of pathology i.e. Clinical, Medical and Forensics theories, which were explained with the aid of slides and models in an elaborate manner.
Psychology, which deals with the scientific study of the human mind, was also an interesting feature of the exhibition. Many theories postulated by psychologists were charted out by the students of the commerce stream. One corner of the school was labelled as Tech Zone, where the latest developments of science were brought forth by students. The principles behind Li-Fi, floating concrete and holograms were enumerated to the curious students and their parents. The display of horticulture and medicinal plants by the students of the primary classes created an awareness about the various species of plants on Earth.
Commemoration of Swami Vivekananda’s 125th Year of Chicago Address
In Commemoration with the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Address, Shri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya conducted various competitions and a book fair in the school premises on 20th August 2018, Monday to inculcate moral, social and spiritual values. The auspicious occasion started with the lighting of the lamp followed by the inspiring speech of the monastic members. Students portrayed the life and principles of Swami Vivekananda in the form of a skit, which won the appreciation of audience.
The audio visual of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago speech provoked the young gathering. After the final level competitions, the winners and the participants were awarded with books written by Swami Vivekananda. Thus the programme ended with a vital note.
Inauguration of Clubs, 2018
Various Clubs of the school were formally inaugurated on 27th June 2018, Wednesday by the senior most teacher Mrs. Jayanthi Srikrishna. The event started off with an invocation to the Almighty followed by lighting of Kuthuvilaku by the Principal and senior teachers and a welcome dance by students of Std. IX. The aims and objectives of various clubs were read out by the Presidents of the respective clubs followed by the skits, performed by students of class IX and XI, highlighting the importance of each club. The Principal of the School addressed the gathering in a way to motivate the students. She emphasized that the club activities enable students to be creative and innovative thus building their self-confidence. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks.
Independence Day, 2018
Independence Day celebration took place at the school premises on 15th August 2018(Wednesday). The programme began with a prayer song. The National Flag was hoisted by the Admin-Head of the School. It was followed by the cultural events. A Rhetorical conversation by the students on stage brought out the importance of celebrating Independence Day. Students of the theatrical club enacted a play on the concept ‘Save Water’, the need of the hour. The play highlighted on the plight of water bodies that are being polluted for human advantage. The audience thus realised the value of conserving water. The Principal of the School, addressed the students on patriotism and the programme concluded with National Anthem. A drawing competition was held in this regard for the students of Std. VI to XII
Magarajothi Celebration 2018
A spectacular show on ‘Magarajothi’ was well depicted by the students of grade I to VI on 4th December, Tuesday. It was a vivid portrayal of Padmashuran’s penance, the boon granted by Lord Shiva, his desire to test the Lord, Shiva’s hiding, Mohini’s arrival, Padmashuran’s lustre for Mohini, the fatal end of Padmashuran, the atrocity of Mahishi, birth of Manikanda, Pandhal Maharaja’s discovery of the child, bringing up of the child, the king’s arrangement for coronation, the minister’s plot against Manikandan, the Queen’s support to crown her own son, royal physician’s suggestion to bring tigress milk to cure her illness, Manikandan’s willingness to go to jungle to milk the tigress , the defeat of Mahishi, the happiness of Devas, the deities turning into tigress, Manikandan’s victorious return to Pandhal, the Queen’s repentance and the construction of the temple.
The Miniature of Ayyapan temple was set exquisitely near the stage. The traditional dance forms like Kathakali, Mohiniattam, Kalari were also highlighted. The best attraction of the day was lighting up of ‘Magarajothi’ which brought the divine blessings of Lord Ayyappa to those present during the occasion.
Motivational Session, 2018
“Your enemy is not existing outside you. He is present inside you. Your closest friend also resides in your body. Boost your confidence, don’t crush it. Set goals in your mind. Dream about your goal. Emotionalize the goal and verbalize it”.
These motivating words were tendered to the students of Std XI and XII by Mr.Suresh Kunnath, a social entrepreneur, speaker and founder director of IIVM College of Optometry and Inlife Institute of Professional Development. This personality enhancement programme was conductedon 19th November 2018 (Monday) for Std XI on 22ndNovember 2018 (Thursday) for Std XII. Students were brain stormed with ways of restraining themselves from the luring forms of technology. During the session he affirmed the need for smart goals and sensory perception. The programme ended with a whirl of questions and answered with possible solutions.
NCC Day Celebration, 2018
NCC day celebration was held on 29th November (Thursday) 2018, in the school premises. 100 NCC cadets took part in a rally. They carried placards and banners about Clean India movement through GCT College via alagesan road to create an awareness about Clean India.
The rally was flagged off by the Principal in the presence of ANO and other army staff members. Essay writing competition was held for the cadets and saplings were planted around the campus to commemorate the day.
Orientation Programme for Kindergarten Parents, 2018
An Orientation Programme for the kindergarten parents was held on 29th June 2018, Friday. Mrs. Savitha Krishnan, a renowned psychologist addressed the gathering. She enlightened the audience on child development and the role of parents in understanding the child’s psychology so as to know their strengths and weaknesses and to bring out their hidden talents.
She stressed on the importance of spending substantial time with the children at home and also to provide them with ample opportunities to express themselves. Thus grooming them in the right perspective towards a brighter future. She also responded to various queries raised by the parents in regard to parenting the session concluded with the Vote of Thanks.
Presentation of Colours 2018
Presentation of Colours is an annual celebration of Bharathi. Leaders and House captains are appointed. This solemn ceremony was held on the glorious day of 5th July 2018 (Thursday). The most reverend Dr. Raghu Raman , Ent Specialist KGM Hospital and Mrs. Latha Raghu Raman Sonologist, Sono Scan, Parents of Soorya R, an Alumni of Bharathi Matric Schoolwere the Chief Guest of the day. Mr. C.Anand,Correspondent of the School graced the occasion with his presence. The programme started with a prayer song, followed by the swearing in ceremony of the Prefects. The House Captains and Vice-Captains were are also nominated. The Leaders took an oath that they shall be responsible for managing the whole of the Prefect body, ensuring that all duties would be carried out appropriately. Later Dr. Latha Raghu Raman addressed the students on the importance of disciplined life. The programme ended with National Anthem.
Sports Day, 2018
The Annual Sports Meet was held at Bharathi for Kindergarten and Std I to V on 31st August2018 (Friday) and for Std VI to XII on 1st September 2018 (Saturday).The flag was unfurled by the senior faculty Mrs. Jayanthi Srikrishna on the day of Junior Sports meet and Senior Sports meet was declared open by the Correspondent Mr. Anand C There was excitement and frolic to witness the sportsmen and the Captains who adorned the tracks with their respective house colours. The air was filled with cheers and applauds of the spectators. This lauded the energy and vitality of the competitors. Students took part in relay, track events and other games. The winners of the events were awarded with medals and certificates.
A spectacular display of well synchronized March past by the students of four Houses namely Truth, Noble, Peace and Charity was followed by lighting of the torch signifying the Olympic flame. The best march past trophy and the overall Championship trophy was bagged by the Peace house.
The field display by the basketball players and the football players was the most intriguing aspect. This fun-filled spirited atmosphere was sombered by the March off and the Flag Furl.
