Annual Day - 2018

The 47th Annual Day Celebration took place on 20thJanuary2018 (Saturday). Mrs. Padmavathy B, Managing Director of Sri Padmavathy Alloy Distributors, an Alumni of Bharathi Matric School was the Chief Guest of the occasion. The programme commenced with a prayer song. It was followed by a magnificent Veena concert by Keerthana R of Std. XI. The annual report for the year 2017-2018 was read out punctiliously by the Principal of the School. Twenty four students were honoured with mementos and certificates for their exemplary performance in various fields.

It was followed by an inspiring speech of the Chief Guest. An English play on “Macbeth” and a Tamil drama on “Karikala Cholan” were enacted on stage. Ingenious dance performances depicting the Bats and Owls, Witches, Forest sequence, Snake and Eagles with Festive Celebration brought about a theatrical effect on stage. The Kindergarten students gave a special Jelly dance performance which took the audience into the sea for a few minutes. Overall the marvellous performances by the students left the spectators astound. The programme concluded with the Vote of thanks and National Anthem.

Christmas Celebration 2017

Christmas celebration took place in the school campus on 8th December 2017(Friday). Students of Grade I and II sang carols and danced to the melodious tunes of Christmas songs associated with the Christmas season. Children dressed up as Santa Claus kindled the token of festivity by setting many psalms to melodies which contemplated the importance of music to worship.

Karthigai Deepam Celebration 2017

Karthigai Deepam celebration took place in the school premises on 5th December 2017(Tuesday). The entire campus was decorated with intricate kolams & colourful flower garlands which adorned the porch and the stage. Students of grade III, IV and V enacted the story on how and why Karthigai Deepam is celebrated. The epithet reflected upon the legend surrounding the birth of Karthikeya from the fury of Lord Shiva’s rage. His care –takers were the cluster of six Karthigai stars from whom he derived his name. By growing-up into a philosopher-warrior, he destroys the evil in the form of demon Taraka to teach the pursuit of ethical life and the theology of Shaiva Siddhanta. The depiction of lighting the “Annamalai Deepam” was the highlight which brought about the spirit of divinity among those present during the occasion.

Bharathi Darshan - Science Exhibition 2017

Bharathi Darshan - Science exhibition was held on 18th November 2017, Saturday in the school premises. The Models and Experiments which were displayed by the students showed their interest in the field of science. The entire display of projects proved to be innovative and eco- friendly. The students of Eco-club also displayed a canopy of coloured plastic bottles to create a vibrant spectrum of shade. Prizes were awarded to all the outstanding projects. The wide exhibit from wealth out of waste proved the pioneering skills of students.

Diwali Celebration 2017

Diwali celebration took place on 13th October 2017,Friday. The students of grade VI, VII and VIII performed sequences from the excerpts of Ramayana staging the return of Lord Rama, his wife Sita, brother Lakshmana and Hanuman to Ayodhya from their exile of 14 years after defeating the Asura king, Ravana at Lanka. To mark this occasion of the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair, Diwali the festival of lights was celebrated with gaiety by lighting Diyas.

Workshop on Emotional Intelligence 2017

“The ability to create a balance between knowing - what you don’t know and that what you know can be improved” is Emotional Intelligence.

A workshop on “How to be Emotionally Intelligent” was held in the school for the students of grade XI on 27th September 2017. Prof. Jayashankar R., Founder and Chief Mentor of Prabodhana Education Initiative, Coimbatore addressed the students. He gave a clear perspective about the difference between I.Q. and E.Q. The entire session proved to be informative and brought about a real transformation in their personality.

Vinayagar Chadhurthi 2017

Vinayagar Chadhurthi Celebration took place in the school campus on 24th August 2017. The sprouting stars of Grade I and II enacted a thought provoking skit on the significance of celebrating Vinayagar Chadhurthi. The skit depicted that the waning and growing of the moon was only due to the curse received from Lord Ganesha. The eloquent bhajans sung by the students and the scintillating dance performances added sanctity to the occasion.

Onam Celebration 2017

Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala was celebrated on 31st August 2017. The programme was presided by the Correspondent of the school Mr. C. Anand .It began with a small skit enacted by the tiny tots of Bharathi, depicting the mythological story of King Mahabali, his golden rule and the boon granted to him by Lord Vishnu in his Vamana Avatar. It was followed by the Chenda Melam . An elephant created out of paper mache was the highlight of the Celebration. Various Cultural and traditional dances of Kerala namely Pulikali, Velai vallam kali, Kalari fight, Kaikottikali and Mohiniyattam were performed with grace by the tiny tots. The innocent efforts of the little ones to bring forth the entire sequence added charm to the event.

Proficiency Prize Distribution 2017

“Excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well”.

Proficiency Prize Distribution Ceremony for the academic year 2016-2017 was held in the school premises on 7th August, 2017. The glorious meaningful event was presided over by Dr. R Karunambigai, Professor, Sri Ramakrishna College, Coimbatore and Head of Department, English, SNS Sons College, Coimbatore.

It was a joyful gathering to celebrate, congratulate and appreciate achievements of students from Kindergarten to Std XII who emerged successfully in academics .It was the most treasured occasion when students were honoured with prestigious prizes in the presence of their beloved parents. The programme continued with a motivational address by the Chief Guest which stressed on how the students should be focused in reaching their destination in this highly competitive world. She also emphasized on a healthy living by keeping oneself fit. The programme came to an end with her best wishes to all the students to come out with flying colours.

Inauguration of Clubs 2017

The Clubs of Bharathi offer a stupendous stage for the young and budding aspirants in various fields. The inaugural ceremony of various clubs for the academic year 2017 – 2018 took place at the school on 7th July 2017. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal which added serenity and sanctity to the occasion. The Presidents and Secretaries of various clubs assumed their duties for the forth coming year. An elegant dance performance was followed by musical symphonies which brought the charisma of fine arts. The function was well executed with intact and informative skits by the students. The programme concluded with the inspiring speech of the Principal.

Presentation of Colours 2017

"Leadership is the capacity to translate vision to reality". The gateway to this leadership was inaugurated with pomp and dignity at the Bharathi on 1st July 2017.The Investiture ceremony, which inculcates the qualities of responsibilities and entrepreneurship in the minds of the students, was presided by Prof. Dr.S.Rajasekar, Director at Sri Subramaniya Engineering & Technology, Palani, the proud father of our former student R.Vaishali.

The School Prefects, Captains of Bharathi's houses - Truth, Noble, Charity and Peace; and the Presidents of the Clubs i.e. English Literary Association, Tamil Illakiya Mandram, Youth Parliament, Eco Club and Quiz Club were conferred with badges and flags by the Chief Guest and the Principal. Felicitation was followed by the solemn oath taking ceremony where the leaders vowed to be role models and execute their duties to the best of their abilities, thereby adding laurels to the institution. They took up their responsibilities with immense earnestness and passion.

The leaders of the preceding year were honoured with certificates for their diligence and enterprising participation in the activities of the school.

The Chief Guest gave an awe inspiring speech on the importance of leadership and how parents and teachers play a magnanimous role in nurturing the values of life in a student. He reminded the leaders that with power comes great responsibility; the responsibility towards themselves and their school.

Award Function 2017

An award is not only a great prestige or a mark of excellence, but is also a tremendous boost for someone to strive and excel higher and aim for even bigger accomplishments in life. An Award function was held on 28th June 2017, to felicitate the XII and X Standard toppers in the public exam held on March and April 2017.The programme began with a prayer song. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Mrs. Geetha Vaidhyanathan who was a former teacher of our school. The Correspondent of the school, Mr. C.Anand was also present during the occasion. The students received awards and certificates from the Chief Guest for their excellent performance in Academics and the teachers were given special awards for enabling the students to bring out the best of their abilities. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

SALIM ALI Centre for Ornithology and Natural History - SALCON, 2017

Our students participated in various competitions conducted by SACON and won several prizes. They were honored with the overall Champions Trophy for their excellent performance in various competitions.

Voters Awareness – National Quiz, 2017

To create an awareness on Elections and Voting for the future voters who are students, the Election Commission conducted a National Quiz Competition for the students of Std. IX to Std. XII. It was conducted in Siddhapudur Corporation Hr. Sec. School. 106 students from 53 private and government schools had participated in the competition.

Nandikaa G and Harikrishnan C of Std. IX had bagged the III prize and were honoured by the District Collector Mr. Hariharan.
